Rest Bay is a sandy Blue Flag beach situated in the west of Porthcawl. It is a very popular for water sports, especially surfing. A surf cam shows live conditions from Rest Bay 24-hours-a-day. A lifeguard station overlooks the beach which is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months the beach.

Rest Bay in Glamorgan is an exposed beach that has consistent surf, although summer tends to be smaller. The best wind direction is from the east. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the optimum swell angle is from the southwest. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Surfable at all stages of the tide. It’s often crowded here. Take care of rips,crowds,rocks and pollution.
