Surf Schools in Newquay 2
Surfing landed on Newquay’s shores back in the 60’s and became the focus of UK surfing thanks to its consistent waves and choice of breaks. Now considered the surf capital of the UK, Newquay is a lively town with a laid back vibe and an array of bars, cafes, surf shops and surf schools.
It’s also home to the annual Boardmasters surfing and music festival, and the famous Fistral beach hosts surf competitions throughout the main surf season.
The town has 4 beaches in the centre, with Fistral, Porth and Watergate Bay just outside. so there’s plenty of surfable options depending on the tides and your ability.
When it’s flat….
If you’re keen to keep active, try stand up paddle boarding and explore hidden caves and coves or zip along the coastline on a jet ski and see Cornwall from a different perspective.
