Surf Schools in Bantham 0
Originally a fishing village Bantham in South Devon sits on the Avon estuary. The sleepy village with its pretty thatched cottages comes alive during the summer holidays and is popular with families and surfers.
Just half a mile from the sand dunes, the village has just one pub serving home-cooked food and great local beers.
The beach is part of an area of outstanding natural beauty and is one of the best for surfing in South Devon. It’s mellow waves make it ideal for beginners yet the river mouth’s rips challenge the experts.
When it’s flat…
Chill out on the beach, go for a swim or head to the pub for a bite to eat. Take a stand up paddleboarding tour around Burgh Island and the River Avon, or visit nearby Bigbury on Sea.
